Americano Recipe
An Americano is espresso lengthened with hot water — all the depth of a shot in a longer, more sippable cup. Add the shot to the water to keep the crema intact.

Step by step
- Pull a double shot: 18 g in, about 36 g out.
- Heat 6–8 oz of water to just off the boil.
- Add the shot to the water (not water to the shot) so you keep the crema.
Tip: Pouring espresso into the water, not the reverse, preserves the crema and softens the edge.
